Weddings are hard to plan....
No really! lol
My Fiance and I, when not knee deep in convention planning, are currently trying to plan our own wedding, which in itself is like our own convention lol
Finding a venue is so tough. Too many choices, prices and packages. But, we have been visiting some beautiful locations.
Tatton Park in Cheshire is gorgeous and I really hope we can get this as our venue. Got a lot of finances to figure out (；￣Д￣)
What's great about planning a wedding is how personal and creative we can be. Its probably going to be a very classy albeit nerdy affair lol
KITACON IS THIS WEEK!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!
IT'S FINALLY HERE!! Quite possibly the highlight of my year, the one event I've been so hype for, is finally arriving.
This will also be my first year selling!!
Normally Kita is a big cosplay event for me but this year I decided to take a wee break from the big cosplays (and the stress that normally comes with it) and be a dealer this year. So if you're attending do be sure to stop by for a chat and a mooch :D
However that isn't to say I'm not cosplaying (✧∀✧)
I have lined up a collection of casual outfits and party outfits for the evening.
Friday will be my one and only big cosplay day as I'm not working and will be wearing Lina (DotA 2) again. She's one of my favourite and well made cosplays so i'm hoping to actually get a photo-shoot done this time.
Other outfits include rave gear, rockabilly-mime'esque outfit for the rock night, plus my Casual Bulbasaur Gijinka for Saturday daytime funtimes :D
I needed something Saturday and Sunday day times that was comfy as I'll be working all day.
And of course, my Sunday Night Ball outfit. My BFF, Sister and I will be doing First Order Couture outfits for the ball, inspired by Kylo Ren, Phasma and Hux. I'll be wearing Hux and I cannot wait!!
Cannot wait to see everyone again at Kitacon!!
If you happen to see me wandering around the hotel, in the parties or dealers room, do be sure to HI! ☆*:.｡.o(≧▽≦)o.｡.:*☆
see you then!!
Also! Check out this amazing cosplay vid from Electrospectrum from last years Kitacon :D
Welcome to the start of the Convention Season, with me...!
Here's to the start of hopefully a great year of cons.
So to kick off I attended Liverpool Comic Con last weekend at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre, Considering I live in Manchester, I've never actually visited Liverpool before and its a surprising city.
Got up super early on the Saturday to get there and set up. 5am starts are not fun (；￣Д￣)
Thankfully I invested in a brand new super hard four wheely case, so it made dragging (or pushing rather) my stock around a lot easier. Also Tea ~~ <3
arriving at the event I was met with extremely helpful and friendly staff, like the nicest I've ever met. One even helped me carry my stuff inside and guided me to the Organisers Office :D
I'm trying to be more organised behind my table this year. With my new case and some really neat collapsible boxes from IKEA, I've managed to make a nice little stock area for myself (*^ω^)
(ignore the Sexy Tin xD it has lipstick in once, now houses all of my bull dog clips lol)
Also had great table neighbours. Happenstance I happened to be near Sophie again <3
The overall event was quiet yet pleasant
Despite being a complete sell out, the crowds there were very different to what I'm used to. Lots of families with very young children made up the majority with very few groups of teens in cosplays. A nice change but the sales weren't really there.
I did however make back costs and into wee profit, so i can't really complain :P
When I had quiet moments, I spent the time sketching in my moleskine or penning out the Madam Butterscotch Book 4 breakdown - got chapter 7 done huzzah!!
And speaking of cosplays, the level of talent at the event was on point with some brilliant cosplayers passing my table. Here's a few that I managed to snap
I had to behave though this time and couldn't really buy myself any swag or new comics.
I did however pick up Brogan Coral's new prints because they are so adorable.
I also visited the Japan Centre quite a bit. They had melon bread. MELON BREAD!! Its like delicious melony brioche omnomnomnom and also ate my weight in cookie pocky lol
In the end it was a very enjoyable event
Would I go back next year?
Yes. I would like to try it again, The first year of an event is always hit and miss and I would say this year was a bit of a miss due to sales - but I don't want to knock it. I will definitely attend again next year as it is very local for me :)
BIG Thank You to Brogan and her family for looking after me all weekend...
From making sure I was ok (as I was on my own) to actually driving me to and from the event; you are the best hun!! (/^-^(^ ^*)/ ♡
Do be sure to check out her stunning work. No doubt you'll have seen her at other events.
My next event will be KITACON!!!
So do be sure to drop by the dealers room over the weekend and come and see me. I'll have a full table display with me, so it'll be interesting getting not just a whole table setup to the event but also 4 days worth of clothes and outfits lol XD
that's all for now
FIRST EVENT IS FINALLY HERE!!!
GUYS I'M SO EXCITED!!!!
Yes MCM Liverpool Comic Con is this weekend!!
Its and brand new event and the first one of the year for me :D
I have no idea what to expect but if its anything like Manchester, hopefully a warm, welcoming and busy crowd.
I'll be there in the Comic Village selling my wares - table CF6 - , from prints to posters, original pieces and special items and of course, all 3 Madam Butterscotch books back in stock!!
I'm also hoping to be doing some Vlogging over the weekend as I am wanting to do more with my YouTube channel, but of course, I will be doing a post-con blog too.
So make sure to pop by. I'll be on my own this weekend so bring tea!! (╯✧▽✧)╯
