Another month, another con - onward to Scotland!!!
MCM Scotland is without a doubt, one of my favourite events to attend.
I love the crowd, I love the location and I love that its one I get to spend with my bff Morti.
The Thursday night I stayed with my friend Tab over at his place as he was very kindly giving me a lift with him to Glasgow. I had one suitcase of stock, but after filling up his car, it goes to show what can go into a dealers table xD
When we finally arrived at the venue on the Friday, the Comic Village hadn't even been set up! So I helped Tab with his table whilst I waited for my table....
TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER!!! I finally got a table and chair and was able to set up. It was the most exhausting setups I've ever had I think. I was so tired and hungry and it was 6:30pm before I was able to meet up with Morti and the others.
When we got to the Hotel, by some lucky mistake on my part, it turned out I had booked us an Executive Room. IT WAS SO POSH!!!
The Onesiewatch Prints and Badges were very popular and I made a lot of new commissions to sell, again, all of them pretty much went :D
Saturday was MENTAL!!
I was crazy busy all day. I had so much fun just gushing and fan girling over Overwatch with other fans and chatting about art.
It was a sold out day so the crowds were mega! Busy none stop from open to close.
The cosplays over the weekend were on point, with me meeting lots of Overwatch cosplayers. They were all so fab and adorable. Also check out the guy from Strangers Things!!
I finished up early on Saturday, completing my last 2 originals for the day - Zarya and Mei - and headed over to the Cosplay Masquerade to watch Morti.
The Masquerade was great!
I never normally get to attend because I'm always busy behind my table, but I made the effort this time to see my Morti perform as Kylo Ren
After finally a good nights sleep (thanks alcohol xD) We readied ourselves for Sunday. It was another busy day and for me, a commission heavy day. I had so many commissions to do - a long time since I had a solid commission day at an MCM event. Most of the Overwatch prints and badges were gone and I was none stop selling all day again. Here's some of the commissions I snapped.
I wondered around the event at the end of Sunday to do some shopping and came across more adorable Overwatch cosplayers. I love the Bunny Girl D.Va and Tracer and came across some Shimada fans :D
Once again, the event came to a close.
I packed my table away and helped Tab collapsing his dealers table and set off home, not before stopping for a bite to eat with Alice (Destiny Blue) and a catch up. Really nice meeting up with her again, she's so busy all of the time :3 <3
The journey home was long, but nice. Quiet roads meant a nice calm journey.
I did pick up some swag this time - there was little to no Overwatch stuff, which made me sad but I did get some little bits and of course, some gifts from friends
And yes I did get custom Jack Morrison tags made - because I am literal garbage lmfao!!
Better late than never, I thought I'd update with my weekend at Sunnycon back in July of this year.
I had an amazing weekend and definitely one of the best Sunnycon's I've attended.
What made the weekend even better was the fact my sister was with me. She traveled up the night before and we went by train up to Newcastle together.
after arriving VERY late to the venue, we finally got the table setup.
We had some ceiling issues as they were a lot lower compared to the massive halls I'm used to, so we had to improvise a lot with the grid squares for displaying.
Never the less, we got there eventually.
The great thing about Sunnycon was I was able to have some of my headdresses on the table too. Normally MCM events only allow art so it was nice being able to show off some of my other items.
We stayed with some friends in Gateshead, which saved on costs massively and it was so nice to hang out with them. We spent all night playing trad games and watching tv :D
The next day we traveled over to the venue and we were ready for day 2,
We both dressed mermaidy; I was in pastels whilst Steph rocked an amazing Koi themed outfit, Both the headdresses I made.
Saturday was super busy, possibly the busiest I've ever been on a Sunnycon saturday. Steph kept me fed and hydrated whilst I furiously drew Overwatch after Overwatch commission hahaa!
There was also free wifi at the event so we were constantly being entertained when we had a quiet moment. I think Genji was the hardest out of all of my commissions, he's so detaily :P
Saturday night we went for food at TGIs (standard) and met up with more friends for cocktails! After a day like Saturday we really needed a drink lol
We found an amazing cocktail bar that was Sci-Fi themed and allowed you to draw on the tables - wot?! and had a Darth Vader disco ball?? it was awesome.
We thought Sunday would be quieter and whilst it kind of was, I was still swamped with Overwatch commissions |D I pretty much sold out of all of my Mercy prints and was none stop drawing.
Saw some amazing cosplays over the weekend, unfortunately I couldn't snap all of them, so here's a few of the ones I did get.
Sadly it had to come to an end and my sister traveled back with me to Manchester to stay the night before traveling home the next day,
We had an incredible weekend and I cannot wait to do it all again next year - which I have ALREADY booked my table for huzzah! Having my sister with me definitely made all the difference, its so nice to have someone with you when your behind a table all weekend.
My next event was MCM Scotland Comic Con...
